Joe is a Brooklyn-based writer, director, producer, and editor originally from Providence, Rhode Island. His work is colorful, energetic, and usually told in a dark comedic tone.

His films have been honored at places like The College Emmys, LA Shorts, Proof Film Festival, Dances With Films, Catalina Film Festival, Miami Film Festival, Flicker’s Rhode Island Film Festival, Sidewalk Film Festival, Denver Film Festival, and more. His short Computer Love was acquired by online platforms DUST and Omeleto.

Joe’s latest, MY KIND OF PEOPLE, won the top prize at the 2024 Russo Brothers’ Italian American Filmmaker Forum (RBIAFF). It features his grandfather, Joe Picozzi Sr., in his film debut. MY KIND OF PEOPLE starts its film festival run in the coming months.
